Joining the Imperial Legion
5 August 2002
If you visit any of the Imperial Forts scattered throughout the island, you'll probably hear that the garrisons are currently at full strength, except for possible Fort Darius at Gnisis. Grab a Silt Strider up to the town and head over to the Madach Tradehouse East of the Strider port. Darius can be found through the middle door on the bottom floor and will sign you up as a recruit and even give you an Imperial Chain Cuirass. Note that you'll have to wear this armour in order to speak to him (or any other Imperial Legion quest giver) again.
General Darius in Gnisis will ask you to retrieve the deed from the recently widowed Vabdas, whose husband died in the Egg Mine. The General wants the land she owns for a new dock and tells you not to take 'no' for an answer. Check around town to learn that Vabdas lives in a hut West of town. Talk to Vabdas about the deed which she'll refuse to give you. She says that her husband was murdered by a legionnaire when he went to the closed mine and she wants you to find out what happened.
Though you could just kill her or steal the deed, you'd probably be better off checking out her claim. Head for the mine on the East side of town on the hill and speak to the guard to get a key (since you're in the Legion he will let you in, or just persuade him). The first area of the mine doesn't have much to it, though you'll find an aggressive Orc (Lugrub gro-Ogdum) in the Lower area (just ignore his threats). Explore the lower mines until you find the ghost of Vabdas' husband in the underground stream. The ghost will tell you that the orc Lugrub killed him to hide the fact that he was sleeping on the job when Vabdas entered. As evidence, he directs you to the broken axe at the bottom of the pool nearby.
Return to Darius with the evidence of the murder who will tell you to go kill Lugrub. Do so and report back to Darius who will reward you with an Imperial Broadsword. If you talk to Darius about the deed afterwards, it will turn out that the Legion has started a donation fund for the Widow (which you can contribute to if you want).
Blighted Gnisis Egg-Mine
30 June 2002
General Darius in Gnisis will ask you to cure the blighted Queen in the Gnisis Egg-Mine, on the East of town on the hill. You'll need a Cure Blight on Touch/Target spell or a similar scroll (check the Hetman Abelmawia in town though they are expensive).
Return to Darius when the Queen is cured to collect 100 gold (and your disposition around town increases).
Kidnapped Pilgrim
24 September 2002
General Darius in Gnisis will ask you to rescue a kidnapped pilgrim named Madura Seran. The Ashlander outcasts are holding her hostage in a camp South of Ald Velothi, North of Town. Enter the yurt of Abassel Asserbassalit and speak to the leader of the gang, who might agree to let the pilgrim go for as little as 500 gold. You can pay the fee or just kill the three outright.
Return to Darius when you've freed the pilgrim and led her back to town for his congratulations.
Includes Contributions from R. Pickett.
General Darius in Gnisis will ask you to find out what happened to the tax collector, Ragash gra-Shuzgub. He had went to visit Baladas Denmnevanni and hasn't been seen since. Baladas can be found in the Arvs-Drelen dome on the North West edge of town and does know where the tax collector is, he's thrown her in one of his cells. If you wish to pick and un-trap the lock, you can rescue Shuzgub and escape to town successfully. Alternatively, you can raise Baladas' disposition until he releases the tax collector (don't bring Shuzgub up to Baladas in either case as Baladas will attack her).
Return to Darius when you've freed Ragash for his congratulations.
General Darius in Gnisis will ask you to investigate a plot among some of the Legionnaires against the current Emperor, Uriel Septim. Speak to any Imperial Guard to learn that Oritius Maro is a member of this Talos Cult and suggests you talk to Prefect Optio Bologra, both in the town's Barracks. Talk to Maro and with a high enough disposition and he'll invite you to join the cult, and will give you the key to the Talos Shrine if you accept, telling you to speak to Arius Rulican. Enter the shrine (trapdoor in the storage area) and talk to Rulican, who will tell you to feel free to take a look around. Do so, and pick the lock on the chest on the altar to find a note from Maro mentioning that they need to strike quickly while Uriel is in Vvardenfell. Once you take the note, it is likely that Rulican will attack you (as might Maro if you see him on the way out).
Return to Darius when you've got the note for his congratulations. This is the last quest offered by Darius.
Dwemer Artifact Smuggler
30 June 2002
Imsin in the Buckmoth Fort will ask you to find proof that that Drinar Varyon is smuggling artifacts through Ald'ruhn. If you've done any of the Hlaalu faction quests, you might already know that Drinar is a smuggler. At any rate, you'll need to enter Drinar's house and have a look around (his house can be found on the West side of Ald'ruhn). Its not hard to get in as the door is unlocked, and Drinar is home. While you can find the evidence in the locked chests, chances are that opening them and taking the contents will start a fight (which will greatly reduce your reward). You can, however, find a single Dwemer Tube inbetween the red pots on the large table near Drinar (who won't seem to notice when you take it).
Return to Imsin with the evidence (Dwemer Tube or otherwise) to complete the quest.
Imsin in the Buckmoth Fort will ask you to resuce a fellow knight, Joncis Dalomax, who is being held in the Daedric Shrine of Ashurninibi found North West of Hla Oad on the West coast. Once you take care of the opposition in the shrine and find Dalomax, he'll thank you and tell you that he can make his way back out.
Return to Imsin to receive her congratulations.
Recover a Maiden's Token
30 June 2002
Imsin in the Buckmoth Fort will ask you to recover an embroidered glove that is being used by a Telvanni outcast to blackmail a Buoyant Armiger. She asks you to recover this glove at all costs. The Telvanni is Varona Nelas is in the cave of Assumanu which is on the South shore of the long island North East of Khuul (console TDT position -18600, 169000). You'll find a number of bandits hiding out in the cave, including Varona, who you can either kill or persuade to get the glove back. Return the gloves to the maiden, Ilmeni Dren in Vivec's St. Delyn Canton, Canal South-One (though you don't have to and can return the glove to Imsin).
Return to Imsin to receive her congratulations. This is the last quest you receive from Imsin.
This quest is offered by Radd Hard-Heart in the Moonmoth Legion Fort. The Buoyant Armigers have challenged the Imperial Legion to a hunt. They claim they will bring the skin of a corprus beast and to best them, Radd wants you to bring the scrap metal from a Dwemer Centurion. Although there are Dwemer ruins located nearby - just before you reach them you have a bridge. When you cross it you will be attacked by the battlemage Snowy Granius. Once he is dead you can find some scrap metal in a crate. Otherwise you can go halfway up a nearby hill and enter the Dwemer ruins.

Rescue the Missionary
5 August 2002
Radd Hard-Heart in the Moonmoth Legion Fort asks you to rescue Jocien Ancois - a man attempting to teach Imperial culture to the Ashlanders - who was kidnapped from the Erabenimsun camp by outcast Ashlanders. Once you reach the Erabenimsun camp you will find out that Jocien is being held by a witch-woman, a Mabrigash, called Zennammu. You will find her encampment nearby (if you follow the lava flow you will find a trail of pages from one of Jocien's books that will lead you there). Zennammu will say that she needs a man When you ask after Jocien - she is willing to trade him for the hunter Assaba-Bentus. If you return to the Erabenimsun camp and approach Assaba-Bentus you need to convince him to come with you - acuse him of being afraid to face the witch-women and he will eventually come with you. Kill Sorkvild the Raven
9 December 2003
Radd Hard-Heart in the Moonmoth Legion Fort asks you to travel to Dragon Fel to stop the necromancer Sorkvild the Raven. The quickest route there is by siltstrider from Balmor to Ald'Ruhn - siltstrider from Ald'Ruhn to Khuul - ship from Khuul to Dragon Fel. Once you arrive you only need ask one or two people to find that Sorkvild is holding up in a tower in the east of the town. You can find him in the tower - he will attack on sight. Once he's dead you can search the room to find, among other things, a Daedric Dagger. Return to Radd and he will recommend you try one of the Knight Protectors in the other Forts for more quests.

No Courtesy in the Legion?
5 August 2002
Frald the White in the Hawkmoth Fort tells you to meet with the Bouyant Armiger Salyn Sarethi in a contest of wit and poetry. Apparently Salyn has been saying that the legion has no courtesy and its up to you to defend the Legion's honor. When you meet with Salyn in the lower level of the Tower of Dusk in Ghostgate he clarifies the he thinks the Legion has no courtesy, wit, poetry or honor. Ask about the riddle to learn more about the contest which are a series of three riddles which you must answer in ryhme. If your intelligence is less than 50, however, Salyn will first recommend you pick up a copy of The Red Book of Riddles from the Ald'ruhn bookstore (Codes Callonus will give you a copy when you ask him about it). As for the riddles, they are not particularily difficult, and the correct answer is always the third choice.
Report back to Frald for a speechcraft skill book as well as a nice Faction, reputation and Disposition increases. If you failed the riddle contest, you just don't get the book in the end, though the quest is still completed (though don't kill Salyn).
Frald the White in the Hawkmoth Fort tells you to kill a former Legionairre, Honthjolf, who quit the Legion to work at the remote Aharnabi (on an island at the very East edge of the map, East or so from Molag Mar, South of Azura's statue). Its a small cave which has its fair share of enchanters and Daedra worshippers and your target is in the cave's NorthEast corner
Report back to Frald when Honthjolf is dead .
Frald the White in the Hawkmoth Fort tells you to kill the Ordinator Suryn Athones in Vivec who has been spreaded lies about the Order of Ebonheart. Suryn can be found in the NorthWest end of the Hall of Justice (Temple District), in the Justice Offices.
Report back to Frald when Suryn is dead .
Protect Entius
8 September 2002
Frald the White in the Hawkmoth Fort tells you that an Imperial Knight has been accussed of murder and that he doubts that he can get a fair trial in Vvardenfell, and wants you to help escort him to the mainland. Unfortunately, Saprius Entius has gone into hiding and Frald has no idea where. You must have absolutely no bounty on your head when you do this quest, so be sure to pay it up before you begin. You can start searching for Entius by asking Vivec's Ordinator guards. Eventually you will here that an Imperial Knight has been seen in the Arena district. Look in the Arena storage area off the Canalworks level and you should find Entius hiding behind NorthWest door in the main room. Unfortunately, as soon as you find Entius, two Ordinator guards find him as well and you'll have to kill them with Entius' help. Once the guards are dead, talk to Entius again and have him follow you (assuming you have an escape route planned) and escort him back to Frald in Ebonheart.
Report back to Frald with Entius to finish the quest and receive the Helm of Graff the White as a reward.
Rank of Knight of the Garland
5 August 2002
Once you've reached the rank of Knight Protecter in the Legion, you can perform this quest for the Legion Boss, Varus Vantinius, found in the Grand Council Chamber in the Duke's castle in Ebonheart. Varus informs you that in order to become a Knight of the Garland you must retrieve two missing artifacts. The first is the Lord's Mail which disappeared from the shrine on the first level, to which you are given a key. Visit the shrine on the ground floor of the castle to start your investigation. The Imperial Magistrate Rufinius Alleius suspects the involvement of banished legionaire Furius Acilius, who was talking about the armour and the caves below the castle before he left.
If you visit the shrine downstairs, you should be able to find how the thief got in, via a well hidden and locked (95) door. If you are a skilled enough thief, this should pose no problem to you, but you can also find the key in the Imperial Guard Garrison. Find Acilius' room in the SouthWest with a key underneath his pillow. The secret door leads to a small cave with Acilius who is wearing the missing armour. After a short talk he should attack you...kill him and retrieve the armour (a tougher than average fight). You can also access the cave from an underwater entrance outside of Ebonheart. You'll need levitation in order to reach all areas of the cave. Return the armour to Vantinius (don't worry, you'll get it back soon).
The second artifact to recover is the legendary sword, Chrysamere, which was stolen by another knight. Spies have learned that the sword is in the possession of the sorcereress Draramu Hloran near Sadrith Mora. If you travel to Sadrith and ask around town, you'll quickly learn that everyone is scared to death of Hloran and won't speak a word of her to you. You'll have to boost the NPC's disposition to at least 75 in order to get them to spill the beans. Hloran can be found in the cave Abanabi SouthWest of town on a large island. Hloran, amoung other things in the cave, can be found in a slightly concealed side corridor. Once you kill her, return the sword to Vantinius.
Report back to Vantinius with the two artifacts to receive the Duke's Guard Armour.
Rank of Grand Master
5 August 2002
Once you've reached the rank of Knight of the Garland in the Legion (through Vantinius' previous quest) you can ask Varus Vantinius for advancement to learn that there can only be one Knight of the Imperial Dragon on Vvardenfell, and suggests a duel to determine the winner in the Arena in Vivec. Vantinius can be tough, especially since you probably just turned in two powerful artifacts for him to use. As a bonus, though, once he is dead, you get back the two powerful items: the Lord's Mail and Chrysamere.
