- Valenwood
- Home of the Bosmer, or Wood Elves, and part of the Aldermi Dominion found on the South-West of the main
continent of Tamriel. The province was claimed as a wasteland by the Second Empire and its geography was
described in several Imperial surveys. Valenwood is noteworthy for it has very few true cities or towns
built by the Bosmer as their Green Pact prohibits the use of wood or vegetable matter as building
materials and they have yet to learn the use of stone. There are a few roads in the province which
the Elves permitted to be built in the Second Empire although they are not maintained as the Bosmer need
no roads for to travel as they can easily move through the thickest of forests. The roads were, however,
repaired and widened by the Aldmeri for passage of arms to and from the coast. The province is mostly
impenetrably thick mangrove and rain forest with some grasslands and glades to the North near the Strident
Coast. The few human trading posts which were established during the Second Empire, have been mostly
abandoned and taken over by a variety of beastfolk such as Centaurs, Orcs and Imga.
- Vanlor
- A small island far to the west of Hammerfell's coast in Abecean Sea.
- Velothi Mountains
- The mountain range which runs down the entire west side of the province of Morrowind, seperating
it from the provinces of Cyrodiil and Skyrim. It also shields the rest of Tamriel from the effects
of the Vvardenfell volcanoe.
- Volenfell
- The original Dwarven name for the province of Hammerfell.
- Vvardenfell
- Vvardenfell is the vast volcano located in the north of Morrowind province. It is actually a small
continent to itself, risen from the rest of the province by the remains of an emmense crater. On a clear
day (a very rare event in Morrowind) the peak can be seen as far away as Almalexia, 250 miles to the south.
When the Nord's conquered the region the Dwarves were still flourishing the north where the volcano now
occupies. Vvardenfell is actually a Dwarven name meaning City of the Strong Shield. It is ensure
whether the Dwarves were destroyed in the first eruption in 1E 668 or whether they had already vanished
along with the remaining Dwarves of Tamriel. The Dwarves, with their strong unity and underground fortresses,
were far more formidible than the Dark Elves of the time and remained independant when the rest of Morrowind
fell to the Nords. The first eruption of the volcano is well certified in a number of texts across Tamriel.
The Nords called it The Year of Winter in Summer, and the Khajiit Sun's Death. Legend has it
that the eruption was caused by a fall of a god to earth. The volcano has now rested relatively silently
for past several thousand years although it regularily blankets the province in ash clouds.
