- Wayrest
- Wayrest, a large city in the province of High Rock, has always been seen as a rival to Daggerfall, which
was already well established when it first was founded at the mouth of the Bjoulsae River. Wayrest, however,
prospered greatly after the Fall of Orsinium in 1E 980 when the commerce of all of Tamriel began to pass through
its gates. Today the city can boast the largest and richest population in High Rock.
- Western Reach
- The Reach is actually the Eastern most section of the province of High Rock and its name is derived from
its location on Skyrim's western border. It was one of the Skyrim Holds during the First Empire which was retaken
by the Aldmeri during the Dissolution of Skyrim's Empire, at a great cost of Nordic life. As a prevention against
further incursions from Skyrim, the Elves fashioned the Western Reach into an impregnable barrier. It was
because of this that the Reach remained under Elven rule the longest of any part of High Rock which can still
be seen today.
Even for Bretons, Reachmen are a mongrel breed composed of nearly every race on Tamriel. Although the Elven
Overlords were killed when the Reach was 'freed', Aldmeri blood is still strong in the Reachmen and share many
Elven traits. They also learned customs and magic from the Orcs who share the mountains of the Reach. The Reachmagic
is still widely studied although banned by the Mages Guild who fear it as dangerous and wild. Reachmen are often
refered to as the Witchmen of High Rock.
- Windhelm
- Once the capitol of of the First Empire, the old palace of the Ysgramor dynasty can still be
seen in the center of the city. The palaca is in fact one of the few original First empire buildings left
as the city has been sacked twice, during the War of Succession and by the Akaviri army of Ada'Soon Dir-Kamal.
Windhelm is the only substantial city in the Hold of Eastmarch and is a base for Imperial troops guarding the
Dunmeth Pass into Morrowind.
- Winterhold
- One of the nine Holds in the province of Skyrim and one of the four known as the Old Holds.
- Wrothgarian Mountains
- A range of forest covered mountains on the East border of High Rock province.
